The Bournemouth Performance Centre was launched in 2009 and continues to grow from strength to strength as it has become an established pathway for talented young players in the Bournemouth and surrounding area. Investment in the Bournemouth Performance Centre by Badminton England is considerable - £30,000 over 3 years. In addition to this, Badminton England has awarded £150,000 towards a new seven court facility for the Performance Centre at Porchester School. 
This funding allows us to provide the environment and opportunities needed, so that the best young players can be encouraged to progress up through the ranks at club, county and international level.
One of the aims of Badminton England is to make England the world's No. 1 playing nation by 2016. We have already hosted our first season of tournaments - and were huge successes. The Performance Centre will continue to provide support and facilities for our young players hoping to fulfil Badminton England's dream, and hopefully some of our players will be at the Olympics in Rio in 2016! |
